Spectrascyne exploits leading edge technology to offer an environmental surveying service using a laser based technique. Mass emissions of airborne species can be quantified for a complete site this way. Target species include volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The principle health concern from these is long-term exposure to low levels of those which are known / suspected to be carcinogens, for example, benzene. VOCs are also implicated in atmospheric ozone depletion and are the subject of environmental legislation.
