CIEH Environmental Awareness Certificate
A Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Qualification

Business depends upon the environment for its resources and survival. Our activities at work, the materials we use, the products and the services we create all have the potential to harm the environment.
This six hour training programme aims to raise awareness of environmental issues in the workplace. The programme leads to the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health qualification and is suitable for staff at all levels and in all sections of an organisation.

The course will enable delegates to:
Identify environmental issues relevant to their work.
Outline their roles and responsibilities
Highlight the importance of complying with environmental commitments

CIWM Waste Awareness Certificate
A Chartered Institution of Wastes Management Qualification

All businesses can significantly reduce the amount of waste they send to landfill by taking action to design-out waste and manage the waste that is produced far more effectively.
The nationally accredited one day CIWM Waste Awareness Certificate Course has been specifically tailored to help you to introduce practical waste management and minimisation measures at work. The course will give you the knowledge, skills and practical advice you need to:

  • Identify waste – what are the different types of waste, and how and where they are produced
  • Understand the impact of waste on the environment and what are sustainable practices in waste management
  • Know how legislation, particularly the Duty of Care, helps to promote best practice in waste management
  • Meet health and safety requirements relating to the handling, movement and storage of waste
  • Conduct basic waste audits
  • Save money by recognising how and where waste can be reduced and eliminated
  • Find sources of more information and help.

Delegates who successfully complete the course are awarded the Waste Awareness Certificate issued by Chartered Institution of Wastes Management

SUMS (Simple Utilities Management Seminar)

SUMS is a 1 day practical seminar to help companies of all shapes and sizes reduce overheads. The seminar will help businesses to effectively monitor and manage utility costs and gives practical advice for savings.

SUMS will assist you to:

  • Find out how to drive down operational costs through more efficient use of energy, water and waste.
  • Understand and comply with environmental legislation & find out what’s on the horizon.
  • Develop an environmental policy statement.
  • Develop an action plan to implement savings ideas successfully.

Average savings identified for smaller companies are £1,200 per year – at a 10% profit margin that’s equivalent to increasing annual sales by £12,000. Seminars throughout the South East continue to achieve similar results and so could you!
